ARLINGTON, VA - Following the tragic events at Virginia Tech that occurred on April 16, 2007, the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund was organized to help support the families of the victims. Ignited Discovery, with alumni holding several senior positions, is a fast-growing company focusing on electronic discovery and litigation support services for corporations and law firms.
An avid soccer fan, Russ Kaulback of Ignited soon read that D.C. United would be honoring the families of the victims with commemorative jerseys, to be worn in their game against Columbus Crew that following Saturday. After the game, the jerseys were auctioned off and all proceeds would go directly to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund. “With several of our staff closely involved with the University, we wanted to do something to help support the families, immediately”, stated Russ.
Ignited took this opportunity to help Virginia Tech. As the auction came to a close, Ignited was the high bidder for rookie of the year Ben Olsen’s jersey. “We really wanted to take this opportunity to show our support for the families during this tragedy”. The jersey now hangs in the walls of Ignited’s main facility, located in Arlington, VA. Kaulback reflects, “Whenever I look at that frame, it reminds me where I came from and how proud I am to be a Hokie”.
Ignited is in contact with the local Virginia Tech Alumni Association and is seeking further ways to continue their assistance with the university during these difficult times. Ignited encourages others to visit the Virginia Tech website (www.vt.edu) for more information on the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
