In anticipation of the exponential storage needs required by growth of electronic data, Ignited Discovery made a significant infrastructure investment and improvement with the purchase of a BlueARC Titan 3100 network storage system with both SATA and fibre channel disks. BlueARC is a leading manufacturer of intelligent file management platforms, and each Titan 3100 can manage up to 2 petabytes of data. Scalability and growth are top priorities, so the ability to quickly expand storage by adding disk trays without any system down time is critical, especially since Ignited already manages over 100 terabytes of data, and growing.

Experts agree that data storage will increase exponentially in the near future, with more than 90 percent of all business documents generated electronically. One of the defining features of the Titan 3100 is its ability to handle more than a million files in a single directory. But it’s not just size that matters.
